" For if you remain silent at this time; relief and deliverance for the people will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish and who knows that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this? " Esther 4:14 NIV

We are living in crucial times, and now more than ever we need to stand in solidarity. As we all are aware the killing's of Breonna Taylor a Black woman and George Floyd a Black man, both by white police officers has ignited an uprising all around the world. Literally, the whole world is standing in solidarity with #BlackLives to spark a change for the injustices against Black/Brown men and women. I created this space for women to explore their many layers and to discover who they truly are. As a Black woman, seeing and experiencing this uprising is so powerful that I had to make my first post about the importance of using your voice. While thinking of my introductory post to the world, I kept hearing " for such a time as this" and I realized I would be doing my self a disservice as a Black woman if I didn't speak on this.
Use your voice
“If you are neutral in situations of injustices, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. ” - Desmond Tutu
What we can all do to play our part
In our world today, protesting can be done in various ways, with the help of social media and having the world at our fingers tips. One person's form of activism may be to protest in the streets and another to use their social media platform to educate their followers with the facts of systemic racism. The point is, there are so many ways we can stand in solidarity and support the #BlackLivesMatter movement. It is important that we #advocate for change on a legislative level in the towns, cities, states/provinces, and countries that we reside. Voting for an individual who will be more inclined to make actual changes to benefit communities of color is another step toward effective change.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have witnessed white people taking a stand against systemic racism to help Black's fight against the oppressor. Many are realizing and using their white privilege to be a mouthpiece. On social media major companies, corporations and brands have made statements and donations to #BlackLivesMatter #NationalBailoutfunds #Untilfreedom just to name a few. However, we have to remember that the Black Lives Matter movement is not a trend. It is not a space to be edgy or to avoid cancel culture. This is REAL life. People of color specifically Black people need genuine support and need to see effective change. Standing in solidarity is not just a black square on Instagram but it is putting Black men and women on the executive level of your companies and creating equal opportunities for Black individuals because many of these entities thrive from profiting off the #Blackculture and the #Blackdollar. Hire people of color because they are excellent candidates and not just to fill your companies diversity quota. (We Know!) From this moment on, restructure and refine to show Black people that you truly stand in solidarity. I came across an article by music business veteran and attorney Ronald E. Sweeney and he breaks down an effective plan for effective change in the music industry. An informative and good read click here
Why this space is important
“Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” - Helen Keller
I wanted to create a space where my readers and supporters could come and learn. We are all on a journey trying to understand how we fit in or even stand out in this world. I do believe if we all moved with Love and appreciation for The Most High's creation regardless of skin color we would be in a better space. However, we live in this world and we need to know how to navigate well in it. I want all people to stay true to themselves and to do that, it is essential that you know who you truly are. This space is multidimensional and all about the self-actualization journey. When you know what you love, like, what makes you uncomfortable, the areas you thrive in, your love language and so much more, you become aware of who you are and how you relate to others. This allows for security and when you're truly secure, you will always be kind and lead with Love.
Be Inspired
I am excited for what this journey will bring and even more excited to meet and connect with The Renaissance Woman tribe. Likeness attracts and we are all about discovering the renaissance within. Let us continue to inspire one another. #BlackLivesMatter
I loveeee this post sooo much! It is extremely important that we use our voices. Esther had to make an important decision, stay silent and face the persecution of her own people or use her voice, advocate for the oppressed, create change. She is so courageous and is one of my favourite bible characters! I love how you created this space for us to learn, enhance, educate and uplift ourselves during these troubling times. I can't wait to see the content you put out and I am here for it!
I love how you have presented our realities in the most precise way ever. Your bulletin points and solutions are so very accurate and i do believe higher corporations including us black people in higher positions /statuses will somewhat make a difference and show us they are hearing us out . This is truly uncertain times! It has opened and broaden our eyes to the injustices blacks face in the world, especially the western world! As an African woman i am been judged before giving an opportunity. I am expected to do as told and have no opinions! I am looked down as dump and uneducated! This has got to stop ! And i think together as women we ca…
I love how you are using your voice/platform to enhance the voice of those who can not be heard. The story of Esther is a great example of standing up for your people and being able to come together in order to overcome.
